The Parade Museum

A museum for a Dutch theater festival

The Parade is a Dutch theater festival, which travels through the Netherlands every summer. Each edition draws 250.000 to 300.000 visitors. Starting 2016, the festival will have its own museum, The Parade Museum. Johan Idema developed the concept for The Parade Museum and is currently involved in its realization.

Each year a prominent Dutch museum will present itself in a museum pavilion especially designed for The Parade Museum. Not just by offering a traditional museum exhibition, but by presenting an exciting new format, which showcases what a museum has to offer a theater festival. The Parade Museum will run for at least three years. Participating museums include The Netherlands Photomuseum, Museum Speelklok and the Natural History Museum Rotterdam.
