Koers Kunst is a national brainstorm about how the Dutch art world can renew itself. It was launched in April 2011, with a call for ambitious new ideas. In the following months, both experts and enthusiasts introduced their proposals. Koers Kunst was initiated by Johan Idema and produced in collaboration with arts critic Simon van den Berg, de Volkskrant and the AVRO.
The best ideas of Koers Kunst were presented and discussed both online, in Dutch newspaper De Volkskrant and on public radio. Never before have so many different participants publically discussed the future of arts and culture. Koers Kunst rounded off with a public presentation and a publication that describes the new challenge for arts institutions in the 21st century.
